William (Bill) Fritz
Bill graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia in 1978. He has been practicing law in British Columbia since 1979 and he is one of the founding partners of Fritz Shirreff Vickers.
Throughout his career, Bill has represented various insurance corporations with head offices in both Canada and the United States. He has acted for both injured parties and the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia in serious head and bodily injury cases.
Bill is experienced in the mediation of disputed claims. He practices in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of British Columbia and he has appeared in the Supreme Court of Canada
Robert Shirreff
Robert graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia in 1986. He has been a practicing lawyer in British Columbia since 1989. Robert is one of the founding partners of Fritz Shirreff Vickers.
Robert is an experienced trial lawyer. He has worked for ICBC as well as for those people who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents. He has experience in a wide variety of personal injury cases, including those involving serious head and brain injuries.
Robert is experienced in the mediation of disputed claims and he practices in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Court of Appeal of British Columbia.
Shane Vickers
Shane graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia. He has been practicing law in British Columbia since 1981.
Shane has successfully litigated claims in many areas of the law, including family, labour, employer/employee relations and criminal. Shane has appeared before tribunals at the Workers’ Compensation Board and the Labour Relations Board.
At the present time he restricts his practice to ICBC and motor vehicle accident cases and wrongful dismissal cases for employers and employees. Of particular interest to Shane are those cases involving detailed investigation and analysis.
Shane practices in the Provincial Court, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of British Columbia.
Peter Buxton
Peter graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia in 1980. He has practiced law in British Columbia since 1981 and he joined Fritz Shirreff Vickers in 1999. His practice is currently limited to personal injury and motor vehicle litigation.
He is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia and his personal injury practice is limited to acting for those persons injured in motor vehicle and other types of accidents.
Peter is experienced in the handling of complex cases involving permanent brain damage and other serious bodily injuries.
Peter regularly uses the mediation process to help settle disputes and he appears as counsel in the Provincial Court, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of British Columbia.
Allan Watchorn
Allan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia in 1968. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia in 1971, practicing law in British Columbia since 1972. He joined Fritz Shirreff Vickers in 2004.
Allan has practiced as a trial lawyer primarily in the areas of personal injury and estate litigation. In addition, Allan has considerable experience conducting complex commercial litigation, appearing before administrative tribunals, and appearing for the defence as well as ad hoc prosecution in criminal matters.
Allan is experienced in mediation of disputes and he practices in the Provincial Court, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of British Columbia.
Paul Simard
Following a career with a former major Canadian trust company during which he progressed through a variety of management positions in Vancouver, Paul returned to university and obtained both a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Windsor and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit in 1991.
Upon his admission to the Ontario Bar in 1993, Paul practiced litigation with a major full-service Windsor law firm. Paul returned to British Columbia where he was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 2008. After practicing litigation with a full-service firm in Kelowna, Paul became associated with Fritz Shirreff Vickers in February, 2010.
Paul’s litigation practice has been varied over the years including employment matters, wills and estates litigation, contract disputes, shareholder rights litigation and tort matters generally. His focus has been on substantial insurance matters including representing both plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving professional liability insurance, accident and sickness insurance, property and casualty insurance and motor vehicle insurance.
Paul has appeared in, or before the Ontario jurisdictional equivalent of, the Provincial Court, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of British Columbia.
